What happens

Our own servers and name servers, whether we built the site or took it on. Domains and records managed here.

What it takes

Three months minimum, then month to month and yours to move after that.

Your vision is our mission · Est. 2000

We build things that take off.

Websites and custom development for direct clients and agencies - new builds, rebuilds, rescues and new functionality for sites already live. Designed, developed, hosted and supported by the people who do the work.

Plan

Step 01

Nothing gets drawn until we know what we're drawing.

1 2
1 2
1 2

What that actually means

01 What happens

We ask the questions, you make the decisions. We scope how you'll manage it, how it's structured and what it has to connect to.

02 You end up with

A written scope, a structure and an agreed route - the whole job in front of you before you commit to it.

03 What it takes

About a week; two if the scope is still open.

04 If you're an agency

Under your name. You lead the scoping call - we brief you, not your client.

Design

Step 02

The shape of it, settled while it's still cheap to change.

What that actually means

01 What happens

Form takes shape over the blueprint - proportion, type, the feel of it. We design what will be built, rather than a concept that dies in development.

02 You end up with

Signed-off designs, before a line of code. You know what you're buying.

03 What it takes

From a week if the brief is clear. Revisions add time.

04 If you're an agency

Under your name. Work from your designs or ours, and we'll supply flat files if you'd rather we weren't on the call.

Build

Step 03

The part where it stops being a picture.

What that actually means

01 What happens

We write it in the open. Structure first, polish second. Whatever was agreed at planning is what gets built - no substitutions once the price is set.

02 You end up with

A working site ready for test, and a codebase you can take elsewhere. Anything licensed is named and priced up front, with no surprise annual fee to keep it working.

03 What it takes

Scoped per project. We will not guess a duration.

04 If you're an agency

Under your name. We work to your standards and hand the code to you, not to your client.

Test

Step 04

Everything that can go wrong gets to go wrong here first.

What that actually means

01 What happens

We fire it up on the pad - every path, edge case and break point - before anyone else does.

02 You end up with

A site that's been broken on purpose, then fixed. Sign-off is yours before it goes live.

03 What it takes

About a week; two on a large build.

04 If you're an agency

Under your name. Sign-off comes to you, and you take it to your client.

Launch

Step 05

Ignition. It goes live and meets the world.

What that actually means

01 What happens

You pick the day. We move it across, watch it land and stay on it while the domain records settle.

02 You end up with

A live site on the day you chose, with nothing left to do on your side but tell people.

03 What it takes

Access to the domain and the current host a few days before. Cutover itself takes hours, not days.

04 If you're an agency

Under your name. Your client never sees a Devision address, and the launch email comes from you.

Where it lives

What happens

Our own servers and name servers, whether we built the site or took it on. Domains and records managed here.

Three months minimum, then month to month and yours to move after that.

Support

When it goes wrong

Something will go wrong eventually. Extinguisher in one hand, spanner in the other.

What that actually means

01 What happens

When something breaks, you talk to the people who know the build. A site that's down gets looked at the moment we know.

02 You end up with

A fix, and a plain answer about what caused it.

03 What it takes

Ad-hoc by default, or a retainer shaped around what you actually need. Next working day as standard; a site that's down comes first.

04 If you're an agency

Under your name. Your client rings you, you ring us and the fix arrives as your work.

Re-design & rebuild

When it's time for a new one

Three years from now, we're still the people who know this site.

What that actually means

01 What happens

Your site stays live while we work. We scope what's changing and tell you whether it's a new look over what's there, or a new build underneath.

02 You end up with

A site that looks current and does what the business needs now. Re-launched doing more than it did.

03 What it takes

A brief for what should change. A new look costs less than a new build; new functionality is quoted on top of either.

04 If you're an agency

Under your name. The client you won three years ago is still yours.
